Numerous innovations and developments in technology have provided us humans with a lot of practical and efficient answers to our problems and have also helped us with everyday activities. Technology not only comes into use in doing chores or errands but as well as in providing for us the enjoyment and relaxation we need during our past time or leisure hours. The latter takes shape in toys that are available in a wide array of varieties in the market.

Among the most popular hobbies for toy enthusiasts nowadays are RC helicopters. A Radio Controlled Helicopter is an aircraft model that can be purchased in the form of kits that you yourself can assemble and in RTF or ready-to-fly models. The first type may require some skill and expertise in order to prevent accidents from taking place during flights. RC helicopters are specifically engineered to have good aerodynamics and the controls and mechanisms needed forth to allow them to mimic the same maneuvers that real-size helicopters are capable of. Several basic designs of RC helicopters are available in the market. Some are more maneuverable than others. Such designs include a collective pitch. This means that their rotor blades rotate on a longitudinal axis to vary or reverse lift. These more advanced designs are, however, harder to fly or pilot but surely come with amazing aerobatic capabilities.

Flight controls enable pilots to control the collective and throttle, the cyclic controls, and the tail rotor. When all of these are controlled in unison, the helicopter is able to mimic real-size helicopter maneuvers like hovering and backwards flight. This toys run on a variety of power sources. But among these, the high-performance lithium polymer battery may be the most common of all because of its less expensive price that makes it affordable for more people.
